Forsvarsbygg wanted to offer training in Xpand as a digital course, based on its existing, traditional classroom teaching. Xpand is Forsvarsbygg’s digital data system for managing the administration, operation and maintenance of the organisation’s properties, buildings and facilities.
The training is aimed at Forsvarsbygg employees who use Xpand as their digital work tool, for registration and case handling, as the basis for invoicing, and for closing planned, urgent and customer reported requests. To get access to the system, employees have to pass this digital certification training.
The certification was built as one combined course made up of three elements, a theory course, a course in using the system, and a final certification test.
The theory part consisted of text, tasks and illustrations, while the system part was built as interactive lessons, where participants had to actively perform actions to work their way through the course. The certification test worked as a final exam with 36 questions, which had to be passed to achieve the full Xpand certification and get access to Xpand’s production database.
The first phase of the project was based on the desktop version of Xpand. A matching course package was then developed for Xpand Mobile, the mobile version of the service order module. This course package consisted of an introduction module with extensive use of animation, followed by a module with a series of lessons on case handling in Xpand through the mobile interface, and finally a certification exam.
